Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Battle Creek, Michigan.

• Hourly Pay: $33.50 per hour
• Sign On Bonus: $2000 at 30 days and $2000 at 90 days
• CDL Required

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
• Basic tools, required
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventive maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, AC and electrical systems
• Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred
• All other certification as required by location, required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
• Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
• Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test, DOT Physical, Road Test, Background and Motor vehicle check

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard and preventive maintenance
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
• Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
• Replaces defective components as instructed
• Works unsupervised on most tasks
• Performs facility maintenance duties
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint
• Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Works in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
• Acts as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
• Uses internal and external maintenance documents
• Support duties such as Service Island support
• Completed SBTIII training within 180 days and OEM On-Line diagnostic scan tool courses within 365 days
