Diesel Mechanic – Springfield, MI

• Starting salary of $25–$35 per hour, depending on experience

• Monday – Friday, every week
• Second Shift: 10:00 am – 8:00 pm
• No weekends
• Repair/maintenance shop at our Springfield, MI hauling site

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment
• Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts
• Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs)
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles to protect employees and the public
• Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times
• Assist senior mechanics in project work
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA standards and established safety procedures

• Two years of relevant work experience
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Over 18 years of age
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
• Successfully complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen and physical exam

• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; standing, walking, and grasping regularly; occasional sitting and balancing

• Exposure to environmental factors including dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements, often
• Work in both indoor garage/shop and outdoor conditions with inclement weather, heat, and humidity
