Travel RN - Labor & Delivery

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a valid MI RN license, OB/L&D experience, and night shift availability on a 13-week contract.

Job Details

• 15-bed LDRP unit with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms in a hospital setting,

• RNs work across all areas of the LDRP unit, including antepartum, labor and delivery, OR circulating, newborn care at delivery, and couplet care,

• Patient staffing follows AWHONN guidelines,

• Uses Epic EMR,

• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM,

• Every other weekend required,

• Floating to other units within the facility as a sitter when needed; may also float to a sister facility approximately 27 miles away based on need and census,

• No on-call responsibilities,

Job Requirements

• Active MI RN license required,

• Minimum 2 years of OB, Mother/Baby, and L&D experience required,

• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, and either AWHONN Intermediate or NCC C-EFM (both not required),

• Preferred certification: AWHONN Advanced,

Required skills:

OR circulating and fetal heart monitoring (FHM) triage,

• Preferred skill: scrub nurse experience,

• References required for consideration,

• Flu vaccination required; exemption requests must be submitted promptly after contract signing,

Additional Information

• Nurses perform lab draws and newborn hearing screens using the ALGO 5 machine; training for hearing screens is provided,

• Scrubs are provided by the facility,

• No RTO during the first two weeks of the contract,

• Orientation includes self-reported, non-billable modules (approximately 8 hours, completed annually),

• Travelers are given first priority when floating,

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,

• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions,

• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month gap before returning,
