Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with at least one year of experience and a current or pending MI RN license for a night shift opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Medical Surgical unit

• Night shift position (4x12 hours: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

• Patient population includes ortho/neurovascular, cardio/pulmonary, and surgical cases such as GI, urology, hysterectomies, and mastectomies

• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6 on nights, with possibility of up to 8 patients when paired with an LPN for support

• Will float to other Med/Surg units as needed, with travelers generally floating first

• Required to work every other weekend

• Main responsibilities include caring for a diverse Med/Surg patient population with a range of specialties

• Block scheduling is not available for this assignment

• RN may be assigned to different Med/Surg units based on staffing needs

• Varied and supportive team environment with RNs, LPNs, and techs

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license (pending accepted if ETA is provided)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA (pending accepted if willing to obtain)

• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience required; 2 years preferred

• Must be available for the first two weeks of orientation

• Willingness to work collaboratively with a team including RNs, LPNs, and techs
