Title: Lab Technician
Classification/Job Grade: Hourly
Location: Battle Creek, MI
Department: Quality Assurance
Supervised by: Supervisor
Job SummaryAs a Lab Technician you will be responsible for carrying out various lab procedures and tests. This includes running lab equipment to ensure products meet specifications, as well as food and safety quality requirements. The ideal candidate will be able to work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 7pm to 7am.

All considered candidates must take AND pass a mechanical aptitude test. Passing score determines pay rate.
Skills and Qualifications - Include but are not limited to:- Shall have attended a Chemical Safety Training session within the past 12 months
- Shall have attended GMP, FSMA, Food Defense Awareness, and Allergen Training
- Shall meet all requirements of the SQF Program
- Shall comply with all GMP Requirements
- Shall comply with all requirements for Personal Protective Equipment as defined by appropriate plant procedures
- Shall comply with all Safety Rules and Policies
- Technician shall be trained in all laboratory procedures that are utilized in the operation in regards to both food safety and quality
- The Technician shall be trained and qualified to operate the Laboratory Equipment including Calibration Techniques for each piece of equipment utilized in the Food Safety and Quality Program
- Technician shall be fully trained and qualified in the appropriate methods of testing as per procedure
- All testing results will be entered in the appropriate log and signed by the Technician
- Technician shall follow all GMP, Safety and Work Policies
- Technician is to notify immediate supervisor when deviations occur
- The employee is occasionally exposed to wet / humid / cold conditions (non-weather).
- The noise level in the work environment may be loud.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and sit.
