Team Support (DMNC - Injection Washer, Dept. 302) – 2nd shift 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Position SummaryThis position is responsible for ensuring that the department has all of the materials necessary to run production. The role includes taking an inventory of the necessary materials, tools and equipment, and ensuring that they are available in accordance with production schedules. Initiates and supports changeovers and relieves Associates on the line when required.
Responsibilities- Verify proper work procedures are being followed.
- Supply all materials necessary for production using the Kanban system.
- Replace Associates on the line when required.
- Perform changeovers and ensure that workstations have the proper parts, work instructions and supplies necessary to meet daily requirements.
- Monitor line activity and production output to ensure that the line is running in accordance with the daily plan. Communicate any equipment problems, manpower concerns or abnormal conditions to the Team Leader.
- Perform basic troubleshooting, repair of production equipment and fabrication of process support materials.
- Act as a mentor and train new Associates on all quality and production requirements. Retrain current Associates on any process changes.
- Ensure Associates are operating in a safe manner.
- Ensure compliance with all IATF‑16949 requirements. Perform layered process audits.
- Review tie‑in sheets with the following shift.
- Continuously look for opportunities for improvement and participate in Kaizen and EF activities.
- Support other members of the department as necessary and work to improve 5S conditions.
- Support required TPM activities.
- Perform rework, as necessary.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Some vocational training or equivalent experience required for minor machine repairs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively with others.
- Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and basic measuring devices.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Basic fabricating skills and operation of hand tools.
Manufacturing environment. Automated machinery. Safety glasses and shoes required. Position requires standing, walking and may be required to move, lift or carry objects weighing up to 35 lbs.
