SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR SENIORLocation:
Battle Creek, MI (Hybrid)
This position is responsible for ensuring the stable operation, security, and optimization of IT infrastructure supporting the CAGE system of applications and capabilities. Key responsibilities include planning, installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting servers, networks, and software to ensure system stability, integrity, and performance. The role involves applying advanced technical knowledge in areas such as Active Directory (AD), VMware, Linux/Windows, and application networking while maintaining compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.
Additionally, the Senior System Administrator develops and implements automation tools and scripts to enhance system efficiency, creates system documentation and procedures, and provides end-user training as needed. The role also includes performing vulnerability management, supporting hardware/software upgrades, maintaining backups and disaster recovery, and ensuring fault tolerance through load balancing and system optimization. The position requires a strong focus on leadership and collaboration, including mentoring junior administrators, directing day-to-day operations, and working with cross-functional teams to align technology solutions with business objectives.
Candidates must hold a BA/BS in a technical discipline and have at least 10 years of progressive IT experience, including hands-on expertise in installing, configuring, and maintaining complex systems. A Tier 5 (T5) security clearance and DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification are required, along with knowledge of automation tools (e.g., Power Shell, Python, Ansible) and technologies such as Azure, COMPTIA, IBM MQ, and IIS.
