Key Responsibilities- Develop and refine product designs using CAD software, adhering to engineering principles.
- Conduct design analysis, including FEA, to optimize performance, strength, and manufacturability.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless design implementation.
- Select appropriate materials and components, considering cost, availability, and performance requirements.
- Manage prototyping, testing, and validation of new and revised designs.
- Troubleshoot design-related manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.
- Expert proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor, CATIA) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
- Strong understanding of diverse manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, additive manufacturing) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Demonstrated experience in material selection, properties, and their application in product design for manufacturing environments.
- Proven ability to manage the full product design lifecycle, from concept development and prototyping to production support and continuous improvement.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail in technical design and documentation.
- Experience with advanced simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) for design validation.
- Hands‑on experience with prototyping, machining, or fabrication techniques.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming for design automation (e.g., CAD APIs, Python).
