Program Highlights:- Elementary (K-5): Students will experience engaging learning and fun at Valley View Elementary. We’ll continue our popular Fun Friday field trips to exciting destinations. The program focuses on building strong reading, writing, and math skills to prepare students for the next school year. Families can look forward to a showcase of student work, progress reports, and a safe, nurturing learning environment.
- Middle School (6-8): Students will participate in engaging learning opportunities at STEM MS. Each week will offer new and exciting experiences. Middle school participants are also eligible for afternoon activities, experiences, and field trips with Beyond the Bell, along with Fun Friday field trips.
- High School (9-12): High school students at BCCHS can choose from a variety of options, including teacher-led courses and credit recovery. High school participants are also eligible for Fun Friday field trips.
The Secondary Summer Principal Intern will support the administration of the secondary summer learning program. This role provides a valuable leadership opportunity for an aspiring administrator to gain hands‑on experience in school operations, student engagement, and instructional support. The intern will work closely with the Secondary Summer Principal to ensure the program runs smoothly and effectively.
Position Responsibilities:- Program Administration & Logistics:
- Assist in managing daily program operations, including student arrivals, staff coordination, and facility management.
- Assist in supply distribution, inventory, and needs to ensure smooth program execution.
- Student Engagement & Support:
- In coordination with the middle and high school leadership team and the secondary summer principal to lead student recruitment efforts in the spring and throughout the summer to maximize enrollment.
- Assist in monitoring student attendance and engagement to ensure high participation and program effectiveness.
- Staff Coordination & Training:
- Develop a secondary summer handbook to support summer program staff.
- Assist in providing ongoing communication and support to teachers, and support staff.
- Assist in collecting and analyzing student progress data to assess program impact.
- Assist in developing strategies for improving student engagement and achievement.
- Assist in end‑of‑program reporting to evaluate successes and areas for improvement.
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a graduate program in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working with secondary students, preferably in an instructional or leadership capacity.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, students, and families.
- Familiarity with credit recovery programs and student intervention strategies is a plus.
- Gain hands‑on leadership experience in a secondary school setting.
- Work closely with experienced administrators to develop skills in school management, instructional leadership, and student engagement.
- Play a critical role in helping students recover credits and stay on track for graduation.
- Earn a stipend of $7,000 for your contributions to the summer learning program.
The successful candidate will be subject to a fingerprint and background check as a condition of employment. All fees required for this check (estimated $73.00) will be the responsibility of the successful applicant.
