Overview
The City of Battle Creek and Flash Flood Water Park are looking for Camp Counselors! Counselors are responsible for their team; these duties include: program leadership, the well-being of campers, helping with daily activities, completing forms, attending meetings and assisting the Camp Director with other work related task. Counselors must be flexible and ready to assist in any and all areas, as needed or required by the Camp Director.
Counselors are under the direct supervision of the Camp Director.
- Organizing games such as soccer, baseball, basketball, and a variety of tag games by explaining the rules and acting as referee or umpire throughout the game. Sometimes as you are also participating in the activity.
- Leading activities such as arts and crafts, demonstrating various techniques and encouraging children to come up with new creative ideas.
- Communicating with parents, providing updates when required and answering questions about the camp.
- Providing guidance, motivation and support to all campers.
- Keeping daily attendance records.
- Communicate daily with the Director as to daily plans, special needs, absences from the program, discipline of children, difficulties with other counselors and any other concerns.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Will need to be able to obtain First Aid and Infant, Child and Adult CPR (provided).
- Experience working with children (Preferred).
- Candidates who are selected for appointment may be required to be fingerprinted.
This work is sedentary and requires little to no exertion of force; work regularly requires sitting, standing, bending, reaching, hand dexterity (grasping, holding, keyboarding, repetitive movements), reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, seeing (near and/or far, color, depth, field of vision), hearing, using the telephone, contact with the general public, working inside, outside and alone.
