As a Part Time Substance Abuse Counselor at Apollo Behavioral Health Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA 70816, you will play a critical role in guiding patients through their recovery journey. You ll counsel individuals both individually and in group sessions to help them overcome dependencies, adjust to life changes, and implement effective recovery strategies. Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes doctors, nurses, and other health professionals, you will ensure comprehensive care.

Timely completion of assessments within 48 hours of patient admission is vital, as is facilitating discharge planning and conducting follow-up to connect patients with essential community resources, ultimately reducing the likelihood of hospitalization.

You will meet regularly with the Director of Clinicians for supervision while conducting three therapy groups each week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, diligently following up on any absences and documenting patient responses to enhance the overall treatment process.
