  • Starting salary of $30+ per hour depending on experience

The hours and location you’ll work in as a Lead Diesel Mechanic with WM:

  • Monday – Friday; occasional weekends
  • Stable hours for financial security and work–life balance
  • Work in a repair/maintenance shop setting

What you’ll do:

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
  • Perform your work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Conduct safety checks to employees and the community.
  • Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and repair times.
  • Review and complete or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate/OSHA standards.

Qualifications:

  • 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Over 18 years of age
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position (with or without reasonable accommodations)
  • Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical
