As a Sales Associate, you will have an exciting opportunity to grow your sales career with United Rentals, the world's largest equipment rental provider. You will be instrumental in supporting the business plan through profitable revenue generation, gaining valuable hands‑on training and real‑world experience in the field while selling to actual customers and impacting the company’s bottom line.
Sales Development Program – What We Do- Sales Performance: improve time to productivity with automated learning paths and certify on execution and retention
- Coaching:
structured coaching environment with weekly 1:1 sessions for reps & managers - Skills Development: confidence building through video role plays, simulated sales scenarios and field ride‑a‑lons
- Micro Learning: bite‑sized content with engaging videos, quizzes & challenges
- Analytics: real‑time visibility to achievements, measuring capabilities and knowledge gaps
- Gamification: leaderboards & badges to engage and motivate teams
- Sales Tools: internal & customer‑facing programs for seamless workflow
- Artificial Intelligence: descriptive & predictive intelligence to maximize engagement and proficiency
- Qualify and quantify the needs of our existing customer base using Salesforce and persuasive selling techniques
- Validate and collect primary decision‑maker contact information and customer needs for future sales and marketing campaigns
- Leverage marketing & sales tools to identify and sell to new customers
- Recover declining & dormant customers via United Rentals’ value proposition and sales tools
- Support and learn about branch operations
- Learn accurate use of United Rentals' IT systems for quotes, rentals, reservations, and territory management
- Coordinate with all branch departments to ensure customer satisfaction and communicate field issues to branch personnel
- Work with ISR’s to provide solutions to customers around equipment needs assessment, training, demonstrations, quotations, catalogs, and credit applications
- Negotiate prices on equipment rentals and sales in accordance with pricing policies and procedures
- Drive customer engagement to local events and promotions
- Perform duties as assigned by management
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- One year of experience in a sales‑related role preferred
- Proven planning, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient computer skills; at least one year of experience with Microsoft Office
- Strong presentation skills and a sales‑oriented mindset
- Strong teamwork and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (required)
