Responsibilities

  • Oversee and drive the daily donation and production operations of the store to meet or exceed budget while in compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead the back room production team to ensure donations flow from the donation door to the sales floor in an expedient manner.
  • Supervise production employees so that daily production goals are met.
  • Ensure the backroom workflow is set up and maintained to maximize production.
  • Ensure donations are processed in such a way to maximize sales and minimize waste.
  • Monitor waste output and ensure sellable merchandise is not discarded.
  • Conduct quality checks on merchandise before it is placed on the sales floor.
  • Conduct textile rack checks to ensure accuracy of piece count reported.
  • Monitor back-room supply levels and assist with ordering supplies when needed.
  • Conduct hourly floor checks to ensure processed merchandise is properly placed on the floor.
  • Ensure donations are processed expediently from the donation door to the sales floor.
  • Maintain safe and appropriate conditions in the shopping and back-room areas.
  • Ensure a proper schedule is written and posted to meet production goals.
  • Observe and ensure compliance with personnel and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct ongoing training with all production employees and document all training.
  • Use cash register to total sales, accept payment, authorize voids, returns, exchanges, and credits for merchandise only in emergencies.
  • Ensure production employees have necessary materials to meet their production goals.
  • Assist the Store Manager in achieving/exceeding sales goals and implement a contingency plan if goals are not being met.
  • Assist in corrective coaching and training and development of employees.
  • Create a working environment conducive to meeting all goals.
  • Be able to multitask and adapt to unforeseen opportunities that would impact production goals.

Skills and Abilities

  • Interact cordially and productively with a variety of people.
  • Market Goodwill and explain the mission to the public.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and motivate employees to optimal performance.
  • Read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
  • Work a flexible schedule on short notice, including nights, weekends, and occasionally long hours.
  • Lift and carry objects up to 25 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Engage in repetitive hand movements when buttoning, sorting, hanging, and zipping garments.
  • Engage in prolonged standing, walking, frequent bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Vision corrected to within normal limits.
  • Function in a hectic work environment with occasional high stress periods.
  • Have knowledge of clothing brands and values as well as furniture and household items.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 6 months of supervisory experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Preferred supervisory or training experience.
