Assistant in Training

Buckle is committed to creating the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests. The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager positions share core responsibilities that support this mission.

• Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide legendary service throughout the store in the Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area.
• Use product knowledge and sales education to recommend, select, and help locate merchandise based on Guest needs and desires.
• Maintain and share knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment, exchanges, and security practices.
• Achieve personal sales-per-hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
• Demonstrate ownership of store’s sales performance, including Sales, Average Sale, Business Builders, Denim, and Guest Loyalty programs.
• Recruit new teammates through Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals, and the Teammate Recommend program.
• Coach, direct, and motivate new teammates to meet Buckle’s accountability standards for shift orientation, Sales Presentation, Loss Prevention, and overall performance.
• Develop and maintain a positive floor culture and personal dress code that encourages teamwork and customer focus.
• Participate in daily setup, training, and Performance Tracker reviews; motivate teammates to complete daily tasks set by Store Management.
• Implement Visual Merchandise Management by owning zones, maintaining Visual Standards, and applying new tools and videos to improve store appearance.
• Execute Operations responsibilities: opening/closing checklists, security risk management, Loss Prevention guidelines, POS procedures, and corporate call handling.
• Assist with Inventory management, including markdowns, inbound/outbound freight, recalls, and Vendor returns.
• Provide leadership actions in segments, support team development, and execute special projects as assigned.
• Cover other stores within the district as needed and manage schedule changes positively and professionally.

High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related retail experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and jump; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; sit occasionally. Lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout store and backroom.

Typical retail store setting with moderate noise level.
