Job Title:

Dishwasher (Full and Part Time)

Position at Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services, Louisiana State University – South Stadium Dr Administrative Support Building, Baton Rouge, LA 70803.

We are hiring immediately for full‑time and part‑time dishwasher positions. Applicants may apply online only.

Requirement:
Prior dishwashing experience preferred.

Pay Range: $11.00 – $13.00 per hour.

Maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition.

• Scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or place them in racks or on conveyor to a dishwashing machine depending on assigned equipment; ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Wash pots, pans, and trays according to assigned procedures; ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Polish silver using burnishing machine, tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, and hand cloth depending on assigned equipment and procedures; ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ensure compliance with outlined safety procedures.
• Maintain temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards.
• Keep dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food prep surfaces.
• Remove trash and place it in designated containers; steam clean or hose out garbage cans.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Help load and unload supplies and product.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Because this position requires you to perform services in an educational facility, there may be periods when the Company does not require you to perform work (such as winter and summer breaks). Any such periods during which you do not perform work on the Company’s behalf may be unpaid and deemed a temporary layoff. However, depending on business needs, you may be required to work year‑round, potentially at a different location during break periods.
