Overview
Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a campus of Louisiana State University, conducts basic, clinical and population research to understand obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and dementia. The Center includes Basic Science, Clinical Research, and Population and Public Health, enabling focused research and translational science. The Center is supported by NIH research centers and includes about 65 faculty and 20 postdoctoral fellows across 44 laboratories and 13 core facilities.
Pennington Biomedical is located on a 222-acre campus in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Postdoctoral Researcher - Brain Glycemia & Metabolic Control.
Responsibilities- Designing and conducting experimental studies to investigate the relationship between brain function, glucose regulation, and metabolic processes.
- Developing and applying advanced methodologies (Microscopy, Immunohistochemistry, DNA/RNA isolation, quantitative PCR, immunoblots) to study neural circuits involved in glycemic control.
- Analyzing the effects of glucose metabolism on brain activity and systemic metabolic homeostasis.
- Collecting, processing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data using statistical software and bioinformatics tools.
- Preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Presenting findings at scientific conferences, seminars, and institutional meetings.
