Postdoctoral Researcher - Brain Glycemia & Metabolic Control
Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Brian Glycemia and Metabolic Control.
The postdoctoral researcher will have responsibilities that contribute to advancing knowledge in neuroendocrinology, glucose metabolism, and brain function.
Major Responsibilities- Designing and conducting experimental studies to investigate the relationship between brain function, glucose regulation, and metabolic processes.
- Developing and applying advanced methodologies (Microscopy Immunohistochemistry, DNA/RNA isolation quantitative PCR Immunoblots) to study neural circuits involved in glycemic control.
- Analyzing the effects of glucose metabolism on brain activity and systemic metabolic homeostasis.
- Collecting, processing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data using statistical software and bioinformatics tools.
- Preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Presenting findings at scientific conferences, seminars, and institutional meetings.
- Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Neuroscience, Physiology, Endocrinology or Metabolism, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences.
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Neurobiology of metabolic control and glucose sensing, Brain-metabolism interactions (e.g., hypothalamic regulation of glucose homeostasis), Metabolic physiology, including glucose metabolism, insulin signaling, and energy balance, and/or Neuroimaging or in vivo techniques to study neural circuits. - Experience designing and executing hypothesis-driven research with a strong publication record.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, such as molecular and cellular biology (e.g., qPCR, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry), animal models, in vivo and ex vivo electrophysiology, optogenetics, or chemo genetics, metabolic assays, and/or imaging methods.
