Job OverviewThis position leads in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. The RN effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members, assuming accountability for quality patient outcomes and demonstrating professional responsibility.
Responsibilities- Use the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
- Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patients, families and professional groups.
- Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources, serving as a leader on the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
- Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale, and nursing profession improvement.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred; none required.
- Certifications: Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice;
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Certification in a clinical specialty area preferred. - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
Heavy work: lifting 50–100 pounds occasionally, 25–50 pounds frequently, or 10–20 pounds constantly. Constant exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue. Occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or waste. Reasonable accommodations may be provided.
