The Registered Nurse – ER provides direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency room setting, ensuring patient safety and care quality. This position requires clinical expertise, strong decision-making, and the ability to respond quickly to emergencies while maintaining professional standards and compassion.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver patient care consistent with established emergency nursing protocols
- Perform assessments, interventions, and documentation per hospital and clinical standards
- Demonstrate sound clinical judgment and prioritize patient safety
- Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and healthcare teams
- Administer medications and monitor for reactions or complications
- Respond rapidly to life-threatening situations and initiate appropriate interventions
- Comply with organizational policies, safety regulations, and emergency procedures
- Maintain records and documentation in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Required Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in an ER or acute care setting
- Experience in high-volume or trauma-certified emergency departments
- Prior work in fast-paced, multidisciplinary hospital environments
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Clinical specialty certification (e.g., CEN, CCRN)
- Strong critical thinking and multitasking skills
- Adherence to policies and procedures
- Ability to perform essential job duties with or without accommodations
- Clear, compassionate communication with patients and families
