Overview
JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION:
Works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse to participate in the delivery of patient care for the improvement of quality of life for patients and families in the Wound & Hyperbaric Care Center. Performs job duties appropriately for the age population served as defined in the department's scope of service.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Provides direct patient care, incorporating the patient's plan of care and following approved policies and procedures.
- Performs intake process as specified by provider. May include chief complaint, history, vital signs, height, weight, etc.
- Provides technical skills that incorporate the patient's plan of care and comfort measures given to patients.
- Reports changes in the patient's condition or other pertinent patient information, in a timely and accurate manner, to the provider or nursing staff.
- Performs dressing removal and wound cleansing
- Receives and assists patients and visitors to the department.
- Assists with the admission of patients to the department.
- Performs effectively in emergency response situations.
Performs specialized patient care techniques in Wound & Hyperbaric Care Unit.
- Prepares and assists in patient preparation for treatment.
- Reinforces education as it relates to hyperbaric therapy.
- Performs duties and procedures as directed by the Medical Director and Registered Nurse.
- Performs dressing application under direction of licensed personnel and utilizes both clean and sterile technique including NPWT applications and other procedures
- Cleans, sterilizes, and maintains equipment used for routine and special procedures
- Monitors the patient and reports any adverse reactions the patient may be experiencing during the treatment to physician and/or Registered Nurse.
- Lifts and transfers patient using appropriate technique.
- Assists in patient transport.
- Assists in the maintenance of equipment.
- Stocks and maintains supplies.
