Overview

The mission of Southern University and A&M College, an Historically Black, 1890 land-grant institution, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is to provide a student-focused teaching and learning environment that creates global leadership opportunities for a diverse student population where teaching, research, service, scholarly and creative expectations for students and faculty are achieved through the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs offered at the institution via different instructional modalities and via public service.

This Custodian 3 maintains the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of university campus buildings and is located at the Student Union.

One year of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.

• Performs housekeeping tasks, manual labor, and other activities necessary for the efficient operation of the campus.
• Gives limited direction to other custodians.
• Inspects and performs job follow-ups.
• Performs the same task and duties assigned to Custodian 2's.
• Inspects and insures that all equipment to be used is safe and fully functional.
• Performs any other miscellaneous related duties necessary to maintain the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of the University, as well as the efficient and safe operation of the department.

Appointment Type: Probational

Compensation: The starting salary is $ 12.25/hour.
