Office of Assessment, Accountability, and Analytics Job Focus AreaThe Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) seeks individuals with an unwavering belief that all students can learn and achieve success in school. The primary job duties and responsibilities assigned to the Education Information Consultant Manager are in the Office of Assessment, Accountability, and Analytics. This position reports directly to a division director and supports the Louisiana Department of Education’s data collections required for educational planning through managing the Data System Support team.
Other responsibilities include serving as project leader in system management initiatives and developing, conducting, and evaluating training programs and tools for school systems. To be successful in this position, the candidate must be able to understand and drive systematic processes for data management. Additionally, this position directs the collaboration between Local Education Agencies (LEA), data stewards, technology staff, data staff, and program/policy offices to ensure that quality data is collected, stored, shared, and reported in a manner consistent with the needs of the organization.

A strong candidate has experience in developing a positive culture among a team of subject-matter experts, leading cross-team projects, and managing plans with competing priorities and deadlines. The ideal candidate also has experience with Early Childhood through K-12 data sets. A keen attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills are vital for this position.
- Seven years of experience in data management
- Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of experience in data management
- A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in data management
- A master's degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, telecommunications, statistics, or education plus three years of experience in data management
- A doctorate in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, telecommunications, statistics, or education plus two years of experience in data management
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Job DutiesAs an Education Information Consultant Manager, you will supervise a team of Education Information Consultants who support the field with data collection and system updates; some duties include:
- Oversees and directs the work activities regarding the data collection and review processes for school, student, and staff data for the Department.
- Directly responsible for the development of data collection resources, training materials, and additional tools that support LEAs’ efforts in submitting high-quality data to the Department.
- Directs the work of Education Information Consultants as they assist data managers at the school system level with the collection, management, and reporting of education-related information in order to design, pilot, and/or implement external and internal processes and analytics for the purposes of data collection and quality.
- Develops comprehensive standard operating procedures and project-specific plans that coordinate roles and responsibilities toward the successful completion of clear and appropriate milestones and deliverables.
Additionally, the Education Information Consultant Manager is the team leader in data collection and communication:
- Provides excellent and responsive customer service and support to the field by managing, routing and answering LEAs' questions through the Department's communication channels (i.e., ticketing system, email, webinars, office hours, and professional development opportunities)
- Builds field understanding of data collections through the production of strong explanatory and support resources across data systems.
- Advises program offices within the Department in the collection of education data, and enforces standards and practices related to data collection and training support.
- Collaborates with policy and technical staff to draft and implement data management policies and procedures that address the needs, availability, integrity, relevance, privacy, security, and management of data.
Appointment Type:
Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.
