The LSU Agricultural Center is a statewide organization with offices in every parish of Louisiana.  We are currently seeking extraordinary candidates for the position outlined below.  This position will be domiciled in Knapp Hall in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
** About the LSU Agricultural Center:
** The  is one of 8 campuses within the LSU enterprise. The LSU AgCenter includes the Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station, which conducts agricultural-based research, and the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service, which extends the knowledge derived from research to the people of the state. The AgCenter is headquartered in Baton Rouge and has 12 academic departments and five regions which are made up of 15 branch research stations and an extension office in each parish.

** Position

Description:

** The Unified Communications Technician/Analyst position’s primary purpose is to implement, maintain, and support the LSU AgCenter communication systems such as video conferencing, instant messaging, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), fax, streaming, etc.  The UC Technician/Analyst installs, operates, maintains, distributes, configures, repairs, upgrades, and supports audio-visual equipment for the organization. This position reports to the Assistant Director of IT Security, Infrastructure, and Unified Communications.  

Specific duties are as follows:
* Provide in-person and remote support of UC equipment, tools, and services for the LSU AgCenter and its constituents.
* Troubleshoot and solve issues with voice, video, networking equipment, computer hardware and software, etc.
* Research, manage, monitor, and support enterprise UC equipment, tools, and services.
* Deploy UC systems, ensuring all systems are installed correctly and meet organizational standards.
* Monitor and manage software and hardware updates for UC devices.
* Collaborate on projects with other LSU AgCenter IT units, LSU System institutions, third-party contractors, etc.
* Update current UC documentation as well as create new documentation, knowledge base articles, wiring diagrams, etc.
* Communicate with vendors to request quotes, order equipment, request return authorizations, etc.
* Create, monitor, and respond to work orders, support cases, etc.
* Set up, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot conferencing equipment, multimedia devices, televisions, monitors, projectors, microphones, speakers, cameras, and other presentation equipment.
* Ensure all UC systems comply with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
* Stay informed about industry’s best practices and emerging technologies.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
** Minimum Qualification Requirements:
** Baccalaureate degree.

Experience in the public sector and/or a university setting is desirable.

Experience providing on-site and/or remote meeting support.

Experience using on-prem or cloud-based conferencing software/services such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, Polycom, Tandberg, Codian, etc.

Experience with providing support for Microsoft Office products, Windows Operating System, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.

Experience installing audio/video hardware such as LCD/LED displays, speakers, microphones, cameras, projector screens, audio/video wiring, etc.

Experience training end-users in the use of UC hardware, software, etc.

Experience in creating knowledgebase articles and user guides.

Candidate must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl as well as lift and handle 30 lbs.
