The IT Administrator supports and enhances the cooperative’s information technology (IT) environment, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of mission‑critical systems that support grid operations, corporate functions, and member services. This position plays a key role in maintaining and improving network infrastructure, cybersecurity posture, business applications, and end‑user support across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Systems & Network Administration
    • Administer, maintain, and monitor servers, virtual environments, storage systems, hosted servers and software, and business applications.
    • Support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs).
    • Troubleshoot performance issues and execute corrective actions to maintain high system availability.
    • Set up and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN). Manage IP addresses and resolve conflicts.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance
    • Implement cybersecurity best practices, including patch management, endpoint protection, and access control.
    • Assist with NERC CIP, SERC, and other regulatory compliance activities as required.
    • Monitor logs, alerts, and tools to identify and mitigate potential security incidents.
    • Performing disaster recovery operations and data backs as required.
  • Operational Technology (OT) Support
    • Provide technical support for OT systems such as EMS/SCADA, substation devices, communications networks, and control center assets.
    • Assist with projects that bridge IT and Operations, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity between IT and OT environments.
  • End‑User & Application Support
    • Provide second‑ and third‑level support for end‑user issues involving hardware, software, and peripherals.
    • Manage business software applications, updates, and integrations (Office 365, ERP, GIS, SQL Server, etc.).
    • Ensure excellent customer service and timely resolution of tickets.
  • Project Management & Collaboration
    • Participate in or lead IT projects related to infrastructure upgrades, new system implementations, and process improvements.
    • Work closely with Transmission, Power Supply, Accounting/Finance, and other departments to support cooperative initiatives.
    • Prepare documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and system inventories.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; OR equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–7 years of relevant IT operations experience.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience supporting business applications and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a cooperative utility environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in an electric utility, G&T, transmission, or critical‑infrastructure environment.
  • Experience with EMS/SCADA systems or OT networking.
  • Experience working with NERC CIP or other regulatory frameworks.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft, VMware, or Cisco.
  • Experience in programming languages (C#, Python, SQL, CURL) to help with data automation.
