Human Resources Analyst/Specialist serve as the point of contact for our operations/benefits team who assists with benefits, retirement, and operational inquiries.

- Four years of human resources experience; OR
- Six years of full-time experience in any field plus one year of human resources experience; OR
- A bachelor’s degree plus one year of human resources experience; OR
- An advanced degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, industrial and organizational psychology, organizational behavior, or a Juris Doctorate.
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Designation as a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience. Job DutiesAs a Human Resources Analyst/Specialist, you ll help create a positive impression for every person who requires HR assistance. In this role, you will:
- Greet employees with kindness and professionalism
- Enter employees into the system for LDOE hires, verify their information, and assist with completing any necessary paperwork
- Answer incoming calls, route messages, and provide requested information about HR services
- Run payroll and other reports regularly to be proactive with bi-weekly assignments
- Support the team with everyday tasks as needed
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.
Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group. As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Human Resources Analyst B, C, or Specialist depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.

Hourly: $18.04 - $35.40
Monthly: $3,127 – $6,136
Annually: $37,523 – $73,632
Human Resources Analyst C(AS-615)
Hourly: $20.65 – $40.53
Monthly: $3,579 – $7,025
Annually: $42,952 – $84,302
Human Resources Specialist(AS-617)
Hourly: $23.65 – $46.41
Monthly: $4,099 – $8,044
Annually: $49,192 – $96,533
Work Schedule and CompensationWork Schedule:
Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined.
Compensation:
The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
