Overview
Epic Enterprise Project – Now Seeking Candidates with Pharmacy, Radiology, or Lab Experience. Baton Rouge General s Epic Enterprise Project – Drive innovation in healthcare with your Epic certification and hands-on experience in Pharmacy, Radiology, or Laboratory operations. This position plays a key role in Baton Rouge General s Epic Enterprise Project, a system-wide initiative designed to enhance healthcare delivery through advanced electronic health record (EHR) technologies.
You will be instrumental in implementing, supporting, and optimizing Epic applications to strengthen workflows and elevate patient care. We strongly encourage applicants with Pharmacy, Radiology, or Laboratory backgrounds—including techs, analysts, specialists, and clinical operations staff—to apply. Experience in any of these clinical environments provides valuable insight into system workflows and user needs.
- Provide software support for operating systems and related subsystems
- Manage and prioritize system maintenance, upgrades, and optimal software utilization
- Serve as the liaison between end users and technical staff to ensure systems align with organizational needs
- Act as the primary support contact for application end users
- Identify and resolve application issues, collaborating across teams as needed
- Guide workflow design, system building, testing, and analysis
- Implement system changes requested by stakeholders
- Communicate routinely with Epic representatives and attend project team meetings
- Collaborate with clinical and business teams to meet project deliverables
- Develop an understanding of operational needs—especially within Pharmacy, Radiology, or Laboratory workflows—to assist in optimization
- Provide training and support to end users
- Troubleshoot issues and maintain communication with leadership
- Monitor project status and deliverables
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Completion of Epic-related training projects/tests
- Epic certification preferred
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to support internal users professionally and proactively
- 2–5 years of experience in a healthcare-related field, especially within Pharmacy, Radiology, or Laboratory environments
- Bachelor s degree in information technology strongly preferred
- Familiarity with personal computers (2–3 years); PC hardware troubleshooting experience helpful
- Ability to identify and resolve technical issues, build and test systems, and implement requested changes
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams, technical staff, and Epic representatives
