Job Purpose or MissionResponsible for day-to-day supervision and operation in Environmental Service. Makes decisions that may affect the division, department and/or GHS System's financial and performance objectives and strategic results. Provides input to director on budget for area. Supervises employees, and provides input to director for performance reviews, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations. Performs job for the age population served, as defined in the department's scope of service.

- Ensures that departmental priorities are carried out on a daily basis.
- Assists with recommending alternative methods of providing services to reduce departmental operating costs.
- Supervises the staff of the department in regards to fluctuations in the workload.
- Demonstrates effectiveness in supervising assigned staff.
- Coordinates the daily activities of the assigned work area.
- Ensures that policies and procedures are followed.
- Monitors performance improvement program for the department.
- Coordinates programs that are developed to improve departmental communications.
- Maintains an effective working relationship with administration and other departments.
Three years environmental services experience preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED preferred.
Special Skill, License, And/Or Knowledge Requirements- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing methods and procedures related to environmental sanitation and safety practices.
- Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and potential hazards related to environmental sanitation.
- Knowledge of serviceability and care of fabrics and floor materials including draperies, carpets, and linen.
- Ability to write and maintain routine records and reports, such as inspection records and supply usage.
- Knowledge of environmental services at a sufficient level to provide expertise and leadership in performing all duties.
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: employee health records, patient demographics, patient related complaints, and/or information related to patient location.
Safety RequirementsMaintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safety practices appropriate to Job Position including: incident reporting, handling of wastes, sharps and linen, PPE, exposure control plans, hand washing, environment of care, work caution signs, and the storage and use of cleaning chemicals.
