Position Summary
The Mental Health Professional will communicate respectfully and effectively and establish professional relationships through active listening and demonstration of empathy and positive regard; promote recovery, independence, and personal choice for participants; assist clients in identifying strengths, needs, and realistic goals to develop a service plan; accurately identify risk, respond appropriately, and consult peers regarding high-risk situations and appropriate interventions; effectively teach social skills and household management skills;
demonstrate advanced knowledge of behavioral health symptoms, diagnoses, interventions, and impact; maintain professional boundaries and operate within ethical guidelines; and know community resources and referral processes.
- Participate in an evidence-based multi-disciplinary team.
- Develop an understanding of Assertive Community Treatment service provisions.
- Complete comprehensive psycho-social assessments that comply with accreditation standards and meet requirements and format for reimbursement/billing.
- Provide appropriate, evidence-based therapeutic services based upon comprehensive assessments of clients’ strengths, abilities, needs, and preferences.
- Provide supportive services for clients and arrange services from community resources based on the service plan.
- Coordinate and ensure proper authorizations for services as necessary.
- Coordinate ongoing service plan development and revision with clients to develop service plans that meet accreditation requirements.
- Complete accurate clinical documentation per policy and as needed to ensure service reimbursement.
- Perform regular evidence-based practice activities to assist clients with basic needs, referrals, service coordination, and skills training as necessary.
- Collect and analyze data to determine service efficacy, client needs, and program/staffing needs and provide reports to the program director or administration as directed.
- Attend supervision, program, and agency-wide meetings as indicated.
- May assist with clinical consultation, clinical review, or auditing of clinical records.
- Conduct self with a manner of professionalism that is conducive to recovery from mental illness and overall wellbeing.
- Ascertain resources outside of the agency when necessary to meet clients’ specific needs.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings.
- Assist the Project Director with complex, additional duties, oversight, or specific functions or serves as the lead role for the other team members when needed.
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree in the social service field.
- Advanced clinical license for independent practice (LCSW, LPC, or LAC [Licensed Addictions Counselor]) in good standing.
- No restrictions or adverse actions that would disqualify an employee from Medicaid or other billing.
- Over 18 years of age.
- Possess a valid driver’s license or Louisiana State .
