Respiratory Care Assistant at FMOL Health

Responsible for cleaning and disinfecting patient equipment, sterilizing reusable equipment, performing basic calibrations on ventilators and other critical respiratory equipment, supervising and training respiratory aids, auditing charges and charting for accuracy, and ensuring provision of quality respiratory services by the department. Utilizes all equipment, supplies, and resources in a prudent and efficient manner, maintains stock in respiratory supply areas, and complies with safety, quality assurance, and infection control standards.

• Clean and disinfect patient equipment.
• Sterilize reusable equipment and maintain inventory in decontamination and stock rooms.
• Maintain capital equipment inventory, coordinate preventive maintenance, and perform performance checks and calibrations on ventilators.
• Order critical equipment for rental and ensure prompt return.
• Supervise and train Respiratory Therapy Aids.
• Perform charge and charting audits.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, state standards of conduct, departmental and hospital policies, safety, quality assurance, and infection control.
• Utilize equipment, supplies, facilities, and resources prudently to ensure efficient departmental operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current student in an accredited respiratory program.
• May be exposed to, or occasionally exposed to, patient elements. Regular exposure to risk of blood borne diseases.
