Certified Surgical Technologist

Overview

Novamed Surgery Center of Baton Rouge / Interventional Pain Management Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team. General, outpatient, or specialty operating room experience preferred. Must have knowledge of sterile processing and the ability to work in a fast paced environment. The schedule is Monday-Friday between 6:45am-5:30pm, shift may vary depending on surgery schedule. Closed Saturday, Sunday, and major holidays.

• Performs scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
• Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
• Prepares operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
• Knowledge of instruments and surgical techniques; instrument and needle counts; isolation techniques and terminal cleaning of surgical instruments and rooms.
• Demonstrates knowledge of specific technical surgical skills.
