JOB PURPOSE & MISSION

Supports BRGFit and BRGP Sports Medicine to implement health and fitness programs associated with patient-care initiatives, community partnerships, and athletic performance programs.

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:

1. Support the delivery of health and fitness programs for employees, community partners, and BRG/BRGP patients.

  • Assist in implementing strength, general fitness, corrective exercise, and wellness programs using evidence-based guidelines.
  • Demonstrate and coach proper exercise techniques to promote safety and improve health outcomes.
  • Support basic screening procedures and communicate findings to senior staff for program modification.
  • Participate in employee wellness initiatives such as unit stretching, rounding, and biometric screenings under supervision.
  • Collaborate with Health & Wellness staff, Lead Coaches, and Sports Medicine team members as needed.
  • Engage positively with participants and partners to promote adherence, safety, and a welcoming environment.

2. Assist with day-to-day operations of BRGFit on-site locations and support special health and wellness projects.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized fitness environment, including equipment care and inventory checks.
  • Support the delivery and progression of health & wellness programs for employees and community partners.
  • Assist with the implementation of new procedures, initiatives, and wellness activities as assigned.
  • Participate in fitness-related educational sessions and events.
  • Foster positive relationships with members, partners, and GHS affiliates through excellent customer service.
  • Promote BRGFit services and help encourage employee engagement in wellness activities.

3. Performs all other duties as assigned.

  • Upholds standards of professional ethics prescribed by General Health System.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience

Required:

1 – 2 years of professional experience in fitness instruction, personal training, group fitness, or related field (internship or practicum experience accepted)

Education

Required:

None

Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Certifications & Licensure

Required:

  • Personal training certification (ACE, ACSM, NSCA-CPT or CSCS, NASM, ISSA)
  • CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire

Preferred:

  • Group fitness class certification (ACE, Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Les Mills)
Special Skills or Knowledge

Required:

  • Lifting 100 pounds maximum with lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Medium strength is required to position patients for screening
HIPAA & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

HIPAA - Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to:
Medical records without limitation both paper and electronic, patient demographics, lab and radiology results, patient information related to surgery or appointment schedules, medical records related to quality data, patient financial information, patient billing 3rd party, patient related complaints, information related to patient location, religious beliefs and/or public health records.

SAFETY - Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safety practices appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to:
Incident reporting, handling of wastes, sharps and linen, PPE, exposure control plans, hand washing, environment of care, patient identification, administers/collects medications/blood order, transports/monitors or observes patients with infusion pumps, and monitors clinical alarms.
