Position Overview
Ochsner Health is searching for an Audiologist who will perform diagnostic tests, patient counseling, and follow‑up services while ensuring optimum departmental functioning. The role requires close collaboration with ENT physicians and scheduled patients.
Service Offerings- Comprehensive audiological evaluations
- Vestibular assessments, including VNG and EcochG
- Auditory Brainstem Response testing, neurodiagnostic and threshold assessment
- Traditional hearing aids, cochlear implants, and bone anchored devices
- Assess auditory function for patients of all ages.
- Communicate educational, medical, and diagnostic procedural information to patients and families in a clear and concise manner.
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic audiological evaluations.
- Schedule and coordinate all types of appointments, facilitating departmental practice.
- Attend appropriate in‑services and educational programs.
- Assist in orientation and training of new employees as assigned.
- Fit and calibrate hearing aids for patients and conduct auditory brainstem response evaluations as needed.
- Adapt communication style to the specific patient population, ensuring privacy and respectful interaction.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and Ochsner Health System Compliance & Privacy Program.
- Education:
Master’s degree in Audiology or AuD, Louisiana State License. - Work Experience:
1 year related work experience. - Certifications:
Current Hearing Aid License;
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑A) by the American Speech and Hearing Association. - Computer skills for data entry, retrieval of patient information, proficiency with Windows applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication; ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Clinical skills indicative of a Board certified audiologist.
