Overview
The mission of the Secretary of State's office is to serve the public by meeting its legal responsibilities of collecting, securing, and communicating information that enhances commerce, ensures the integrity of Louisiana's elections, and preserves, presents, and makes accessible government information essential to Louisiana's operations and its recorded history.
The Elections Integrity Unit is seeking an Elections Compliance Officer 1 or 2 to assist in conducting criminal investigations regarding elections, as well as providing administrative and/or support functions for the EIU.
Responsibilities- Investigates election related violations
- Responds to notifications/complaints from ROVs, COCs, private citizens etc
- Functions as the unit's evidence officer
- Conduct internal investigations
- Four years of experience in investigations as a commissioned law enforcement officer; OR
- A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or law enforcement plus one year of experience in investigations as a commissioned law enforcement officer.
- An applicant will be disqualified if he or she has been convicted of a felony or if there are any indictments or bills of information pending against him or her in which felony charges are included; or if he or she has been convicted within the past three years of hit and run or driving while intoxicated.
- Possession of a current Louisiana driver's license.
- Possession of an active Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.
