Overview
The mission of the Secretary of State's office is to serve the public by meeting its legal responsibilities of collecting, securing and communicating information that enhances commerce, ensures the integrity of Louisiana's elections and preserves, presents and makes accessible government information essential to Louisiana's operations and its recorded history.
The Secretary of State is seeking an Election Program Specialist A, B or C for the Elections Operations Section. This position is responsible for field operations, early voting and programming of statewide electronic voting machines for elections, and statewide training and support of elections officials.

Experience and Education: Three years of experience in election program activities or administrative services; OR six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR a bachelor s degree.
Experience Substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Note: Election program activities include the following job functions: records management, voter registration, regulation or administration of the election process, forms management or design, or the maintenance, programming, or repair of election equipment.

Responsibilities- Programming election machines and maintenance.
- Assist with ballot layouts and proofing.
- Assist assigned parishes on Election Day.
- Assist in early voting.
- Utilize GIS software.
- May be required to travel and work overtime.
