Anywhere in Country (New York or Remote - Seasonal Tax Manager - Real Estate). EY serves high-profile clients with domestic and international tax planning and advisory services. TARAS (Tax Accounting and Risk Advisory Services) supports financial reporting for income taxes, including tax accounting, tax provision procedures, and controls design/testing.
EY focuses on building a better working world through diverse, globally connected teams. This is a seasonal managerial role focused on tax accounting and risk advisory for real estate clients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide tax guidance and consulting related to tax accounting and planning (internal restructurings, acquisitions, dispositions, carve-out financial statements, GAAP conversions between US GAAP and IFRS, share-based compensation, financial statement restatements, and balance sheet remediation of tax accounts).
- Assist clients with all aspects of their tax provision preparation and, where applicable, review the tax provision process to improve efficiency, accuracy, and the control environment.
- Assess tax risk and the effectiveness of control environments beyond Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; significant tax or legal experience; MST, MAcc, or JD/LLM preferred
- Valid US CPA license or active state bar membership
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in professional services, tax organization, law firm, or IRS
- Broad understanding and experience with federal income taxation
- Strong analytical, written/verbal communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Strong ASC 740, Real Estate, and/or IAS 12 experience
- Experience in corporate tax planning and compliance; broad exposure to federal income taxation
Candidates with strong tax and tax accounting knowledge, ability to team with and motivate others, capability to manage large engagements, and ability to build meaningful client and colleague relationships.
