Physical Security Engineer (Data Centers)

. The base salary range is $132,900–$182,700 per year.

Responsibilities- Conduct preliminary assessments and concept creation for physical security systems.
- Lead designs with support from peers, SME’s, and BIM designers.
- Resolve internal and external problems and produce drawing and specification documents.
- Coordinate with architectural, civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams to identify conflicts.
- Perform calculations for video storage, bandwidth usage, and power loads.
- Participate in cross‑discipline coordination and contribute to project management.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline; master’s preferred.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
- Professional security certifications (CISSP, CPP, PSP, etc.) a plus.
- 12+ years of experience in planning, designing, and commissioning physical security systems and/or communication networks; project management experience a plus.
- In‑depth knowledge of physical security systems (video surveillance, access control, biometric systems, intrusion detection).
- Experience with vulnerability and risk assessments.
- Strong understanding of network technologies and cybersecurity principles.
- Exceptional problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, Revit, ACC, BIM
360, AutoCAD, and/or Micro Station. - Knowledge of CSI design and construction specifications and construction cost estimating for security implementation.
- Experience evaluating emerging security technologies (e.g., multi‑megapixel cameras, thermal imaging, ground‑based radar, Lidar).
- Experience leading projects and managing resources.
- Experience mentoring junior staff.
- Design management experience.
- Design experience in data centers.

Location & Working ArrangementThis role is available at any location in the United States. Applicants are typically near a Jacobs U.S. office. Working arrangements are hybrid, allowing split of the work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
