FranU Bioethics Instructor; PRN

Overview

Provides effective online instruction in assigned graduate Bioethics courses on a part-time, temporary basis. Responsible for fulfilling and sustaining the duties and functions specified by established appointment and promotion criteria, including teaching and service to the school and community.

• Mission engagement: act in the Catholic and Franciscan mission and identity by modeling Franciscan Values, promoting justice, and integrating Catholic and Franciscan intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.
• Teaching: implement curricular and instructional interventions; develop student learning outcomes; utilize peer review and coaching; apply feedback from formative and summative assessments; engage in professional development to advance teaching and learning scholarship.
• Advising: reflect on summative evaluations of academic advising and assess reports and perceptions regarding fidelity to advising roles and responsibilities.
• Contribution to knowledge base: present at local, state, national, and international professional conferences; publish works with clear type, audience, and focus; cite own works in others’ research; solicit and participate in funded research with identified roles, funding sources, and project status.
• Professional service: participate in local, state, national, or international professional agencies.
• Community service: actively participate in community groups and organizations related to the college’s mission.
• Institutional service: participate in committee work at the program, school, or institutional level, delineating roles and nature of participation.
• Other duties as assigned: perform other duties as required.

• At least one (1) year of teaching experience.

• Master’s Degree and successful completion of 18 graduate credit hours in a related discipline (Ethics, Bioethics, Philosophy, Theology, etc.).

• Strong organizational and communication skills.
