Assistant Superintendent of Catholic Schools
The Assistant Superintendent of Catholic Schools, as a member of the Catholic Schools Office, promotes the vision of Evangelizing Hearts, Educating Minds, Encouraging Talent, and Embracing the future. This role provides direct support to principals, collaborates closely with school and diocesan leadership, and helps ensure that all schools operate in full alignment with Church teaching, diocesan policies, accreditation standards, and best practices in education.
This role may also require serving as the Superintendent’s designee in his/her absence.
Members of the Catholic Schools Office staff collaborate with the bishop in his work of evangelizing, catechizing, leading worship and giving pastoral care to the people of the larger community, and support the parishes, schools and other organizations of the diocese in accomplishing their ministry.

Certifications:
- Master’s Degree and administrative experience in Catholic schools is required. A minimum of five years of successful experience in the teaching and administration of elementary or secondary schools and two years minimum as a principal.
- A practicing Roman Catholic who is registered and active in a parochial or religious community.
- Administration or principal certification preferred.
- Completion of catechetical or theological formation (or willingness to complete upon hire).

- Flexibility to work evenings and long hours when necessary.
- Must have a valid, current, driver’s license and own reliable transportation.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent people skills, including leadership, supervisory skills and consensus-building skills.
- Proficient in various computer programs to include current software being used by the diocese.
Physical Demands:
Employee may be occasionally required to lift up to 20 pounds. Occasional walking, stooping, lifting, bending, and kneeling are also required. Computer work and communication demands require adequate vision and verbal communication skills. Job requires driving to and from schools and meetings throughout the diocese and attending various night meetings outside of the normal workday schedule.
Indoor office. Most work is done indoors, either in schools, offices, or meeting rooms.
