Position Overview
Louisiana Key Academy, a Baton Rouge charter school for dyslexic students, seeks a highly motivated middle school teacher to implement project-based and evidence-based practices for teaching dyslexic children.
Requirements- Ability to be creative and bring subjects to life through projects, hands‑on learning, demonstrations, and critical thinking activities
- Evidence of a growth mindset for student potential and academic growth
- A strong desire to receive rigorous, ongoing professional training to deeply understand dyslexia and its effect on academic life
- An open‑minded attitude toward academic instruction, including a willingness to “work outside the box” of traditional instructional methods
- A willingness to receive and implement feedback regarding instructional practices
- Evidence of strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Willingness to participate in highly collaborative lesson planning and teaching situations
- Evidence of individualized, interactive teaching philosophy
