Job Purpose:
To join a team with the mission of Relentless Commitment to Student Greatness in School and in Life. As a Pre-K Teacher, you will create and implement a flexible program and classroom environment favorable to student learning and personal growth, develop lesson plans, establish rapport with students, staff, and parents, and motivate students to build foundational skills and knowledge.
- Plans and implements a program of instruction that adheres to the company's philosophy, goals, and objectives as outlined in the adopted courses of study.
- Develops purposeful lesson plans with effective teaching strategies and maximize time on task.
- Presents subject matter to students with real-world, application-based examples.
- Reviews student records to understand each student’s abilities and needs; maintain accurate and complete student records.
- Strives to maximize educational achievement for each student.
- Uses a variety of student learning modalities and differentiated instruction within lessons.
- Utilizes diagnostic assessment of student learning regularly.
- Assesses student strengths and weaknesses and provides appropriate activities; generates progress reports as required.
- Refers students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel.
- Assigns lessons, corrects student work, and reviews oral presentations.
- Coordinates class field trips as required.
- Prepares students for state-required achievement assessments.
- Keeps current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory; shares knowledge for curriculum improvement.
- Assists in ongoing curriculum revision and selection of instructional materials.
- Becomes acquainted with supplemental services beneficial to students.
- Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.
- Maintains positive rapport with students; demonstrates patience and nurturing to support growth.
- Ensures classroom is clean and displays student work.
- Implements relevant policies governing student conduct.
- Establishes reasonable rules of classroom/playground behavior in line with CSUSA policy and maintains order fairly and consistently.
- Develops lesson plans consistent with guidelines and goals.
- Plans individual and group activities to meet instructional objectives and student needs.
- Prepares for classes and shows preparation upon request.
- Participates in curriculum planning with other staff.
- Incorporates diagnostic information from IEPs as required.
- Protects supplies, equipment, materials, and facilities needed for instructional programs.
- Establishes cooperative relations and communicates with parents/guardians when appropriate.
- Communicates clearly with parents via appropriate mediums.
- Cooperates with administration, staff, and CSUSA; maintains confidentiality of student records.
- Participates in parent communication and school activities as needed.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment toward the position and CSUSA’s mission and values.
- Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with teachers, students, parents, community, and staff; sensitivity to corporate needs and public image.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; courteous, professional, and helpful.
- Excellent communication skills: oral, written, interpersonal, and influencing.
- Reliable attendance, instruction following, and openness to feedback.
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SIS, and email.
- Focus on quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement; commitment to best practices and character education.
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree in ECE, Child Development, Education, or a CDA/Staff Credential
- Emergent Literacy for VPK Instructors
- Implementing State Standards in Preschool Classrooms: 3 Years Old to Kindergarten
- First Aid CPR
- May perform other duties as assigned.
- Usual school working conditions; may be noisy during high student traffic.
- No excessive physical exertion required; light work with occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
