Science Teacher

About the Role

We are seeking a Science Teacher for the 2026–2027 School Year at BASIS Baton Rouge Materra Campus. The Science Teacher (SET) will prepare and facilitate subject‑specific lesson plans, implement the BASIS Curriculum, and tailor lessons to integrate passion for the subject.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related subject or 24+ applicable credit hours with another degree.
• Valid fingerprint clearance and state background check.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Master’s degree in the subject area or education.
• 2+ years teaching or education experience.

• Prepare and facilitate subject‑specific lesson plans.
• Provide higher‑level instruction in an interactive learning environment.
• Implement the BASIS Curriculum with creative lessons and assessments.
• Collaborate with curriculum teachers to develop material.
• Tutor students to advance academic and career success.
• Manage student behavior to support academic achievement and responsibility.
• Support non‑instructional functions such as “Early Bird,” “Late Bird,” and lunch.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Supervise individual students or groups.
