Spanish Teacher – CSAL Middle School
Community School for Apprenticeship Learning seeks a Spanish teacher to create a flexible, engaging classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth. The ideal candidate is passionate, linguistically fluent, and committed to building strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Key Responsibilities- Instruct students on Spanish language, culture, and customs of Spanish‑speaking countries.
- Design and implement a culturally integrated instruction program aligned with CSAL’s mission.
- Develop differentiated lesson plans that maximize time on task and provide real‑world applications.
- Assess student strengths and needs frequently, producing progress reports and adjusting instruction accordingly.
- Coordinate classroom field trips, prepare students for state assessments, and maintain accurate student records.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, IEP support, and instructional material selection.
- Maintain a safe, clean classroom that displays student work and enforces CSAL policies.
- Implement student conduct policies and maintain order in a fair, consistent manner.
- Integrate cultural studies into lesson plans; incorporate diagnostic information and IEP data.
- Communicate clearly with parents, participate in parent communication activities, and support positive school culture.
- Protect supplies, equipment, and facilities, and maintain confidentiality of student records.
Standing or sitting for long periods, walking frequently, and managing student activity. The role is onsite, in‑person, with typical school conditions that may vary in noise, temperature, and work day length.
Minimum Requirements- Fluency in Spanish (spoken and written).
- Bachelor’s Degree (Required);
Master’s Degree (Preferred). - 1 year teaching experience in a charter school (preferred).
- Valid Louisiana Teacher certification or meet Louisiana DOE Bulletin 746 requirements for a foreign language teacher.
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
