Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor in Biology. The full-time Assistant Professor holds a 10-month appointment with all rights and responsibilities of faculty appointment. Primary responsibilities include providing instruction in Biology courses and fostering an effective environment for student learning, service, and scholarship. - Teaching

- Engage in professional development related to teaching and learning scholarship.
- Advising
- Reflect on student evaluations of advising.
- Assess perceptions of peers regarding advising fidelity.
- Contribution to Knowledge Base
- Present at professional conferences at various levels.
- Publish peer-reviewed works, specifying type, audience, and focus.
- Demonstrate citations of own work in others’ publications.
- Participate in funded research, identifying roles and sources.
- Professional Service
- Participate in professional agencies locally, nationally, or internationally.

- Engage actively in community groups aligned with the college’s mission.
- Institutional Service
- Contribute to committee work at various institutional levels.

Qualifications for Internal Candidates
Experience
At least one year of teaching experience.
Education
Master’s Degree and successful completion of 18 graduate credit hours in Biology or related field;
Doctorate preferred.
Training
General knowledge of laboratory practices.
Special Skills
Strong organizational and communication skills.
