Job Overview/Summary

Seeking an experienced Senior Rheumatologist MD with expertise in rheumatology and leadership experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. Knowledge of drug development from early trials to registration and ability to lead in a global, cross-functional environment are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and expertise in rheumatology across all drug development phases.
• Oversee clinical trial design, conduct, and interpretation.
• Communicate study plans, progress, risks, and results to stakeholders.
• Guide global, cross-functional study teams with clear vision and purpose.
• Collaborate within a matrix organizational structure, influencing without direct authority.
• Serve as a problem solver, negotiator, and strategic advisor in clinical programs.

Primary Skills

• Deep expertise in rheumatology patient care and research.
• Understanding of clinical trial methodology and drug development.
• Leadership in a global, cross-cultural setting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Secondary Skills (Good To Have)

• Experience in academic and industry settings.
• Knowledge of regulatory submissions and approvals.
• Background in translational research and precision medicine.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent degree (required).
• Board certification in rheumatology (preferred).
• Completed specialty education in rheumatology.
• 3–5 years’ experience in pharma/biotech.
• Proven drug development track record.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
