We are seeking an experienced Soil Cement Foreman to lead base stabilization and soil cement operations across large‑scale commercial job sites and confined urban roadway projects throughout Louisiana.
This is a hands‑on leadership role for a field professional who understands soil stabilization from the ground up - including equipment operation, grading, moisture control, compaction standards, and production management. Position SummaryThe Soil Cement Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily soil stabilization and base construction operations. This includes supervising crews, operating and managing specialized heavy equipment, coordinating with project stakeholders, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
You will play a critical role in delivering roadway and site development projects that meet DOT, municipal, and commercial specifications.
Key Responsibilities Field Leadership & Crew Management- Lead and supervise soil cement and base stabilization crews on both large commercial sites and confined urban road projects
- Assign daily tasks and monitor productivity to meet project milestones
- Ensure effective communication between crew members, project managers, inspectors, and subcontractors
- Train and mentor operators and laborers on best practices
- Operate and oversee operation of:
- Soil stabilizers / reclaimers
- Motor graders
- Dozers
- Compactors
- Water trucks and related heavy equipment
- Ensure proper equipment utilization and daily maintenance checks
- Perform routine inspections and report mechanical issues promptly
- Read and interpret construction drawings, grading plans, specifications, and grade stakes
- Monitor moisture content, mix design, and compaction to meet engineering and DOT requirements
- Verify proper blending and stabilization of materials
- Ensure finished grades meet tolerance and design standards
- Track daily production quantities and material usage
- Maintain detailed production logs and crew performance records
- Coordinate with inspectors for testing and quality verification
- Ensure work remains on schedule and within project scope
- Enforce strict adherence to OSHA and company safety policies
- Conduct jobsite safety meetings and hazard assessments
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant work environments
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in soil cement or base stabilization operations
- Proven experience leading crews in heavy civil, site development, or road construction
- Strong working knowledge of stabilizers, motor graders, dozers, compactors, and related heavy equipment
- Experience working on both large open sites and confined urban roadway projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and grading requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Experience on DOT or municipal roadway projects
- Strong understanding of compaction standards and soil stabilization techniques
- OSHA certification or other relevant safety training
- Experience working in high‑production environments with strict scheduling requirements
