Position Overview
(New Orleans, LA):
Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Concrete Superintendent to lead field operations and manage multiple concrete crews while driving safe, efficient, and predictable project outcomes. This leadership-focused role is responsible for overseeing production, quality, scheduling, cost control, and crew development on complex concrete scopes including structural, flatwork, and foundations.
- Lead and manage multiple concrete crews across structural, flatwork, and foundation scopes.
- Develop and execute 7–14 day lookahead schedules aligned with manpower, materials, and equipment.
- Track daily productivity using quantities and labor metrics to achieve targeted Labor Efficiency Ratios (LER).
- Coordinate and manage all concrete placements, including pump scheduling, truck timing, and finishing operations.
- Conduct pre-pour meetings to ensure readiness, safety, and quality compliance.
- Identify scope gaps and proactively communicate issues to project leadership.
- Maintain survey control and layout integrity throughout all phases of work.
- Supervise and delegate work effectively rather than performing hands-on labor.
- Mentor foremen and assist in developing future superintendents and leaders.
- Ensure consistent documentation and reporting using approved project management tools.
- Advanced knowledge of concrete structural systems, formwork systems, and rebar layouts.
- Proven ability to plan and execute large concrete placements (200–800+ yards).
- Strong layout and survey skills using levels, lasers, and benchmarks.
- Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, submittals, and project specificationsli>
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage productivity, cost control, and schedule adherence.
- Proficiency with digital reporting and documentation tools.
- Ability to work in active construction environments and on uneven surfaces.
- Ability to walk job sites, climb ladders, and access elevated work areas.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
