Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial records, analyzing data, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards for multiple entities. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, technical expertise, and a collaborative approach to support the company's financial goals.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and process month-end and year-end journal entries across multiple entities to ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Perform reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other critical areas.

- Review expense reports to confirm proper approvals and compliance with accounting policies.

- Assist in managing and overseeing credit card programs to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.

- Conduct thorough analysis of general ledger accounts to identify discrepancies and propose corrective actions.

- Handle special accounting projects with precision and deliver results within established deadlines.

- Support the organization by applying best practices in accounting and financial management.

- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address inquiries and maintain effective communication.

- Utilize advanced accounting software and tools such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat for day-to-day operations.

- Ensure adherence to ethical standards while managing sensitive financial information. Requirements - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.

- At least 2-3 years of experience in finance and accounting roles.

- Proficiency in corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return processes.

- Advanced understanding of accounting principles and general ledger management.

- Strong ability to process and analyze journal entries with accuracy.

- Skilled in using Microsoft Office suite and other business tools.

- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate within teams and with external partners.
