Quality Manager

We are supporting an established and technically complex engineering and manufacturing organisation in Whitburn with the appointment of a Quality Manager. This is a senior leadership role within a multi‑division environment covering manufacturing, project delivery, service and specialist testing operations. The position forms a key part of the management team, ensuring quality standards support both compliance and operational performance.

• Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Quality function across multiple business units
• Maintain and enhance integrated management systems
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and relevant industry standards
• Interpret customer specifications and regulatory requirements, communicating impact across the organisation
• Lead internal audit programmes and supplier qualification audits
• Drive structured root cause analysis and corrective action processes
• Support Management of Change (MoC) and formal risk assessment activities
• Provide quality input into tenders and contract documentation
• Deliver quality performance reporting and statistical analysis to senior management
• Act as a proactive member of the leadership team, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

• Degree qualified or equivalent in Engineering, Quality Management or a related discipline
• Lead Auditor certified (ISO 9001 essential; ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 desirable)
• Strong understanding of regulated engineering or heavy manufacturing environments
• Significant experience leading a Quality function within a comparable manufacturing or capital equipment setting
• Commercially aware with the ability to influence cross-functionally
