Working as a Safety Technician involves protecting people by ensuring WORD risks in the workplace are properly controlled.
Responsibilities- Conduct safety audits of ships, ship unit sections, and the physical plant as assigned.
- Record and audit results in electronic format on an iPad utilizing the TruQC Program.
- Identify and correct unsafe workplace conditions and/or individual unsafe acts / behaviors.
- Demonstrate ability to handle conflict, follow direction and make decisions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of behavioral safetyប concepts, participate and guide Safety Action Teams / Committees.
- Communicate effectively with large groups of employees.
- Train employees on proper use of fall protection systems, $(mobile and overhead equipment, and respirator use / fit testing, and hazard awareness training.
